The Global Anonymous, Adoptee Survey 2022 Passes 200

The Global Anonymous, Adoptee Survey 2022 (link here)  passed 200 by Sunday UK time on 4th September. Each day it puts on more numbers and currently it stands at 209 at the time of writing .. The survey has multiple aims and many are about empowerment.  A key one is to enable a greater capacity by Adoptees on Twitter and Facebook, Tik Tok and in other parts of the web to realise they all have to start measuring by stats-capture their own voices of experience. How so ? Why should they do that ?  Are their voices not enough in those places ?

Well, the answer seems to be , yes and no ... Yes, for discussions and sharing fellowship, but the limits of the web becomes seen when some Adoptees wanting social changes are mostly reactive back in a web-cornered way to the problems of Adoption, they are often either suffering from, and not realizing that by more pro-active efforts ; changes to systems are possible. Changes in fact that could help them or future Adoptees.

That thrust for change  has to be led by individuals taking on political/media  involvements in changing policies and practices. What better way to do that than take some statistical information to pursue political and media attention. ?  No-one else is doing this for Adoptees .. In fact huge numbers of people seem to prosper on the back of perpetuating Adoption in one way or another but few are reforming it, so it becomes something less harmful by way of often total displacements from kin.

What we are seeing as a small team that created the 2021 UK Survey for UK Adoptees last year,  is some of the same sad trends more Globally in the 2022 survey. Namely, of a lack of therapy help for Adoptees often suffering from various forms of child abuses inside Adoptions. We are also seeing a lack of legal and human rights for Adoptees to move back to their core identities that the law wiped out by creating the fictional status of them being someone else's child who are they not ..Many have no birth certificate viewing rights and kin related medical information either. Rules are different in different countries or States within them.

Adoptees want reforms to stabilize their lives , often to legalize their return to birth identity status which for some is REAL .. IS FELT as them ..Adoptees it seems are the last people in the "Age of Identity Politics" to be seen and heard for rights to their own core identities.

Some Adoptees we can see on the 2022 survey have extra problems for instance as Trans Racial Adoptees,  they may be adopted by white skinned people of a different culture which cannot show any sense of genetic mirroring like their own original cultural kin can .. They feel losses eventually of culture and language and also citizenship. The additional problems of racism in a white culture make them subject to stresses other Adoptees cannot grasp easily. Inter-country Adoptees are often similarly affected.

We found a massive figure of 86% for self declared mental ill health distresses in the Adoptee community that responded to the Global Survey.  The question was : "Did Adoption itself cause for you any lasting mental ill health distresses?" ... So it was clear from that suffering is very high amongst Adoptees... When the Global survey is completed we will have more to show. As it is,  from time to time we will discuss interim findings and trends.
